I make art from the things we live, feel and carry.

Kirsty Latoya, known creatively as KirzArt, is a self-taught digital artist from South London whose work blends emotion, storytelling and bold visual expression. Beginning with traditional sketching before discovering digital illustration, she developed her signature technique of creating art with her finger on her iPad — a method that brings warmth, texture and intention to every piece.

Kirsty’s artwork explores themes of mental health, identity, womanhood and culture, using rich colour and narrative detail to spark conversation and connection. Her work has been featured by BuzzFeed, HuffPost, ITV, and even spotlighted at 10 Downing Street.

THE STORY BEHIND THE ART

My work explores the places where emotion, identity, culture and lived experience meet. 

Storytelling has always been at the heart of my creative practice. My work often begins with something I’ve experienced, noticed, remembered or felt. From grief and womanhood to identity, Black culture, relationships and the contradictions we carry, I use art to give those experiences another language.

The finished artwork is only one part of the story. The meaning behind it — and what someone else sees in it — matters too.
